Warm and balmy nights are the first sign Christmas is in the air and what better way to join in on the festivities than spend a night singing carols by candlelight?
The Knox Carols by Candlelight is one of the biggest Victorian carols event outside the annual Myer Music Bowl event.
Country singer Gina Jeffreys, Play School's Jay Laga'aia, and '90s boy band singer Gary Pinto will all be belting out yuletide favourites.
Children will be entertained by a visit from Father Christmas and the Australian Army Band will also take to the stage.
There will be a children's fairground, arts and craft market and children's show prior to the main carol event.
Knox mayor Sue McMillan said the carols celebration would conclude with an impressive fireworks display, scheduled for between 9.45pm-10.15pm.
The carols is a free community event on Saturday, December 3 from 4pm at the Wally Tew Reserve off Brenock Park Drive, Ferntree Gully. Limited parking is available at St Joseph's College, for a gold coin donation. Details: knox.vic.gov.au or call 9298 8000.
