RESIDENTS of Melbourne's outer east have been invited to share a coffee with a Bayswater North community organisation.

After closing down earlier this year due to renovations, the Glen Park Community Cafe has now reopened.

A not-for-profit organisation, Glen Park offers activities and education programs for people of all ages and backgrounds. Classes range from art and yoga through to support programs for people with disabilities.

Funds raised from its cafe will be invested in improving Glen Park's programs.

Cafe manager Nicci Matheson said the cafe had been a meeting place for the elderly and disabled in the community, but it was also open to all residents.

"A lot of walking groups and mother groups come through here. It's child friendly."

With the cafe serving quality coffee and delicious food such as veggie burgers, Ms Matheson said residents could enjoy a good meal while helping out the centre.

"Funds will come back to the centre and give us the opportunity to host more groups."
