Get in to jail free

08 Sep, 2010 12:00 AM
RESIDENTS can get an insight into life behind the thin blue line when Knox police open their doors this month.

On September 18, the public can step behind the bars to enjoy a guided tour of the Knox police station including interview rooms and police cells.

Senior Constable Andrew Walker said there would be displays and specialist police staff would be available to answer questions.

"Members of the highway patrol unit, crime desk, crime investigation unit and the operation and safety tactical training unit will be available to share their expertise and explain their roles," he said.

The tours are free and will be conducted from 10am until 4pm. Numbers are limited, so bookings are essential. Details: 98817000.
