Life on the farm

27 Jan, 2010 04:00 AM
Knox residents can experience life on the farm in their own backyard. Chesterfield Farm in Scoresby has proven to be a hit these school holidays, with activities ranging from milking a cow to sheep shearing. Farm manager Tracy Connors said children could also hand feed kangaroos. "There's lots of hands-on stuff, which is good." Located on Ferntree Gully Road, Chesterfield Farm is open every day, 10am-5pm, including a daily farm show.Pictured are Bella, 5, and Harry, 3, enjoying life on Chesterfield Farm. Details: 97631588. Bella and Harry thought Chesterfield was the best part of their trip to Melbourne and begged to go again every day until we left. Their best part was milking Abbey and then bottle feeding the lambs which was a little frightening at first. Harry said that he loved riding the tractor and Bella wanted to keep the guinea pigs. Next time they want to have a pony ride too.
