POLICE throughout Knox were out in force last Saturday night as revellers enjoyed the Weekender Festival at The Stamford Hotel in Rowville.
Uniform police from Rowville, Boronia and Knox, as well as members of the Knox and Maroondah traffic management units took part in Operation Weekender, aimed at ensuring good behaviour by people attending the celebrations.
Senior Sergeant Matt English, of Rowville police, said the operation was "quite successful", with police receiving "some very positive feedback from local members of our community who were happy to see a large police presence over the weekend".
Despite generally good behaviour, two men were arrested for drunkeness, police reported. Another man may also be summoned over drink driving offences, and a minor assault will also be investigated. There were also a number of traffic offences in the area.
