Proud start to school life at Templeton Primary

08 Feb, 2012 03:00 AM
WHEN Ronan Toivonen, 5, walked into class on his first day of prep at Templeton Primary School in Wantirna last Monday, there were "no tears at all".

His mother Julia said she and husband Mark were "just so proud" of how hard Ronan had fought to get there. Born 13 weeks premature, Ronan has battled a variety of conditions since birth.

Ms Toivonen said the Wantirna school was incredibly supportive, and Ronan was excited to begin school life.

Her son's premature birth inspired Ms Toivonen to create websiteL'il Aussie Prems, which this month celebrates five years of supporting parents and children. Picture: Rob Carew
