Anti-semitic graffiti was discovered in public toilets at the Wantirna Trash & Treasure market last Saturday week.
A report was made to the Anti-Defamation Commission, run by the Jewish community, and once alerted, management cleaned the graffiti.
Neither Trash & Treasure management or the ADC reported the incident to the police.
Knox councillor Joe Cossari said he believed the incident was an isolated issue for the area. Senior Sergeant John Hess of Knox police said the incident "may be a one-off".
