THE Dandenong Rangers may have scored a win off the court last week with the announcement that Mark Wright will return as coach, but on the court a 42-point loss to Bulleen on Saturday summed up what has been a miserable season.
Bulleen cruised to a 92-50 win and looked more than happy to repay their arch-rivals for the years of dominance they had over them.
It didn't take long for coach Tom Maher to get his Boomers firing. The visitors raced to a 21-11 lead in the first quarter on the back of the inside dominance of teen sensation Elizabeth Cambage.
The Rangers tried to hang on via some gritty defence, but at half-time the score was 41-23 and it was about to get a lot uglier after the break.
Bulleen piled on 51 points in the second half while holding the Rangers to just 27, including a lowly nine points down the stretch.
Better players for Dandenong included Megan Moody (12 points), Nicole Hunt (12) and Stephanie Cumming (10).
