TIPPED by many to win this year's Big V championship men's division, the Ringwood Hawks have bolstered their squad by signing Melbourne Tigers playmaker Darryl Corletto, an addition that no doubt makes them an early-season favourite.
The Hawks will square off against Bulleen, Waverley and Hume City for pre-season bragging rights.
Making the huge step up from division 2 into the championship level, Ringwood's Lady Hawks will soon find if they have what it takes to compete at the higher level.
Warrandyte Venom will also be keen to play well, especially the club's first-ever men's team, which will compete in division 3 this season and should do well against Pakenham, Darebin and Cranbourne at the pre-season tournament.
Likewise, the Venom's young women's squad will be on show.
In recent years, the team has blooded
plenty of younger players during the pre-season and could be planning to do the
same again.
Sherbrooke will compete in the youth league competition, preferring to give its championship men the weekend off.
The Big V season tips off on the weekend of March 20-21.
