WARRANDYTE Venom started its Big V pre-season schedule with two good wins against Darebin on Sunday.
It included the first victory for the fledgling men's team.
In the first on-court action for 2010, Venom's women hit the court minus leading players Janelle Lucas, Mollie Burke and recruit Jennifer Cameron, yet worked hard to grab a 63-30 win in hot conditions.
Blooding a number of junior players, the Venom looked sharp and was capably led by Sharlene Dalsanto (13 points), Meg Dargan (11 points) and Casey Taylor (10 points).
Meanwhile, in their first hit-out, Venom's men mustered an exciting 72-60 win with more than 200 fans cheering them on.
