COBURG has overcome a shaky start with the bat to defeat Bayswater in their Victorian Sub District Cricket Association match.
After making just 177, Bayswater fought its way back into the game by having Coburg 3-27.
However, Michael Lewis's 61 not out proved crucial
in getting Coburg over the line. Richard Walters contributed a handy 31. Coburg eventually finished at 6-178.
Best for Bayswater was captain-coach Sean Flynn, who took 3-33.
Phillip Milne chipped in with two wickets, while Bryce Galvin and Tom Ahon took one each.
Bayswater is now in 13th position on the VSDCA north-east first XI ladder.
The team faces Kew Cricket Club on Saturday at Bayswater Oval. Play starts at 1pm.
