WARBURTON-Millgrove made the most of the warm and humid conditions to notch up 255-9 at Woori Yallock when round 11 of the Yarra Valley Cricket Association's D J Strachan Shield started on Saturday.
The batting display was led by Brent Summers with a fine 107.
In the other main match to shape the four, Seville travelled to Queens Park in Healesville and made first use of the crease but did not repeat the batting of its previous innings and was all out for 151.
Daniel Rogers and Darren Edwards bowled well for Healesville but the best figures came from Ben Slater with 5-30. Healesville batted for 10 overs and is 2-13 at stumps.
Hoddles Creek is 2-18 after dismissing ladder leader Wandin for 232. Wandin captain John Aumann batted well in the recovery phase making 74, while A Davis took 3-63 to be the best of the Hoddles Creek bowlers.
Yarra Junction is hosting Silvan, which batted first to be 195 all out. The Eagles bowlers to make the most of the conditions were Brad Jones 4-31 and Dan Lever 3-47. This game could go either way.
Neighbours Coldstream and Gruyere United are doing battle at the Coldstream Cricket Ground with the visitors 134 all out (A Reker, 31, Aaron Violi, 30). The Coldstream bowlers doing the bulk of the work were Scott Reece, 5-33, and Matt Stark, 3-35.

SOME high scores were the feature of the grade. Healesville batted first at Warburton and reached 4-387 at stumps (B Dolan 100no, Michael Sawyer, 96, Chris Loughnan, 2-37). Warburton Millgrove will need to bat above previous innings for this season to reach this tally.
Seville at home declared late in the day at 8-309 (Richard Dicello, 103 not out, Phil Smith, 81, Sam Morrison, 3-47). Coldstream was 1-10 at close.
At Wandin the home side was dismissed for 163 by Yarra Junction, which is 7-53.
Woori Yallock is 13 with all wickets in hand in its chase of Yarra Glen's 235 (Grant Braden, 104).
