Deadly bowling

10 Mar, 2010 03:00 AM
Melbourne's wild weather created havoc across all grades of the Ringwood District Cricket Association finals over the weekend, but not enough to deny Templeton (pictured) an outstanding win. In Chandler Shield, top team Mooroolbark (6-76) drew with South Warrandyte (6-163) after the match was halted by rain, but the Barkers' higher ladder position puts them through to the grand final. The Hawks will now battle Templeton in this week's preliminary final. With only 96 runs on the board, the Taipans celebrated the form of captain Nathan Owen who ripped through Croydon North with ease, claiming 7-13 off 16 overs and dismissing the opposition for just 55.
