One-day contests looking tight

21 Oct, 2009 04:00 AM
RAIN in the Yarra Valley area caused the cancellation of all YVCA matches on Saturday as the grounds took a soaking.

This Saturday, a round of one-day matches will be played, with senior games beginning at 1pm.

In the DJ Strachan Shield grade, Coldstream hosts Healesville in what promises to be a close affair.

Hoddles Creek travels to Gruyere for another interesting tussle and and it's hard to predict the result of the match between Warburton Millgrove and Mt Evelyn at Warburton.

Silvan travels to Seville and might have the edge as the Seville team is running hot and cold. Star player Andrew Kay is out with a long-term injury.

Yarra Junction will host Woori Yallock on what could be a tough surface due to ground works.
