BAYSWATER faces a "12-point" weekend in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association this Saturday and Sunday.
The Waters will chase Malvern's day one total of 238 on Saturday and then face top-side Caulfield in a rescheduled one-day game on Sunday. The Caulfield game was meant to be played in round two. Both games will be at Bayswater Oval.
Waters captain Sean Flynn said his side wanted to take full advantage of the weekend. "We want all 12 points because those two wins could set up our season," he said."But Caulfield is on top so that will be a major challenge."
Against Malvern on Saturday the Waters looked in trouble early after Malvern's No.4 batsman Rohan Wight made a quick-fire 83 off 91 balls including six sixes.
But after taking some stick from Wight, the Bays bowlers bounced back to take 5-83 in the final session and bowl out the visitors for 238. Veteran star Darryl Stranger took three wickets bowling medium pace.
Flynn said his side would need some determined partnerships to pass the total.
"We will need someone to make a big score we can build our innings around. If we can get some partnerships going early in the innings we should be OK.
"We haven't had too many chases this season but we chased last round and won so hopefully we can do it again."
