FTGDCA: Tigers roar into top position

UPWEY Tecoma moved to the top of the FTGDCA Norm Reeves Shield ladder at the expense of Eildon Park on Saturday.

The Tigers easily accounted for Knox Gardens, rolling the Falcons for 184 in pursuit of the Tigers 5-378 at Argyle Way.

Ben McLean top-scored for the Falcons while Sam Taylor and Ben Wood shared the wickets.

The Tigers did the damage last week, with Taylor scoring 157 and proving why he is the current Feaver Medallist.

Upper Ferntree Gully knocked off ladder leaders Eildon Park chasing down the Panthers' 7-205. Marcus McDonald (54) and Marc Hardy (4-45) provided the backbone for the Kings, with Darryn Osbourne (49) and Daniel Beyer (36) ensuring the win. The Kings move a game clear in third while the Panthers will drop to second.

Johnson Park dropped out of the top four on percentage after its loss to Ferntree Gully Footballers. The Griffins ran through the Sharks line-up last week, dismissing them for 131. Day two saw Nick Bogar add 48 runs to his bowling efforts of 3-35 as the Footballers posted 200.

The Sharks will be looking to turn their form around against the Basin Bears next round, while Footballers move within two games out of the top four.

Ferntree Gully's 241 proved too much for the Knoxfield Knights as they fell 29 runs short.

Jarrod Bradley took 5-43 and Mohammud Farrukh (3-38) as the Blues moved back into the top four.

Adam Maloney top-scored for the Knights with assistance from Mitch Burley and Jayson Scanlan.

Belgrave came out victors in the bottom of the table clash as The Basin managed to muster 277 in reply to the Magpies 312.

Danny Rundle (68) and Wayne Koster (51) gave hope to the Bears but it was Scott Vozzo's six wickets that took the game away from them.
