A fire in Boronia last week was caused by a malfunctioning car, police say. Fire engulfed the garage of a home in Boronia Road about 7.20am last Thursday after the car burst into flames. Acting Sergeant Jarrod Zarb of Boronia police said neighbours alerted the occupants to the fire and no one was injured. Three CFA crews took 20 minutes to extinguish the blaze. Acting Sergeant Zarb said the fire was not being treated as suspicious.
