Wells takes on police as Napthine dumps Ryan

BREAKING NEWS: Scoresby MP Kim Wells has been dumped as the state treasurer in a major cabinet reshuffle by new Premier Denis Napthine today.

Mr Wells will take on the role of Police and Emergency services minister after embattled Nationals leader Peter Ryan was moved to head the new department of State Development.

Bayswater MP Heidi Victoria received a promotion in the reshuffle, taking over former premier Ted Baillieu’s portfolio as Minster for Arts, as well as Women’s Affairs and Consumer Affairs.

She was formerly Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier and assisting the premier with the Arts. 

Ferntree Gully MP Nick Wakeling was also promoted from the back bench to Cabinet Secretary.
