Knox Council has won the National Excellence in Sustainable Water Management Award at the United Nations Association of Australia 2012 World Environment Day Awards.
The award honoured the bio-infiltration basin at Wicks Reserve in The Basin, which was previously recognised by the Stormwater Industry Association of Victoria.
The basin captures stormwater and filters it through layers of sandy soil and plants, before travelling to Dobsons Creek.
