Mud pie madness at Coonara in Upper Gully

JESSICA loved that technology and televisions were traded for mud and mess at Coonara Community House preschool in Upper Ferntree Gully last week.

The preschool at the Willow Road community house was celebrating the second annual International Mud Day, early learning centre co-ordinator Dani Campbell said. ‘‘It’s a way to reconnect with nature and participate in some old-fashioned play.’’

A mud pit was the highlight, with the children also making mud pies and planting native plants and vegetables.
