Federal MP Alan Tudge, second from left, joined Knox veterans and members of various service organisations at the Arboretum in Ferntree Gully on Monday to launch a campaign to honour residents who died serving Australia.
The aim of the campaign is to have a memorial at the site completed in time for Anzac centenary commemorations in 2015. The group also hopes to have an honour roll that lists all the armed services personnel from Knox who have died, including the two soldiers from the area who died in Afghanistan. Knox Historical Society has been researching all the names for the honour roll, but it is also asking people to come forward with names of those who should be included.
