Upper Ferntree Gully taekwondo star Carmen Marton fell agonisingly short of a bronze medal in the women's 67-kilogram competition at the London Olympics last week.
The 26 year old was within reach of Helena Fromm of Germany entering the final round of their bronze medal bout before Fromm landed some late shots to win 8-2.
Marton looked to have scored a head-kick in the third round which would be brought her within a point of Fromm but the German appealed the decision and it was reversed.
