A 27-YEAR-old Ferntree Gully man has been charged with 31 offences including attempted murder following dramatic scenes in Croydon yesterday.
The man, who was wanted by police, was spotted in Croydon with another male in a four-wheel-drive and the area was cordoned off by police.
He was expected to face the Melbourne Magistrates Court today.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said officers tried to stop the four-wheel-drive in Sherlock Road, Croydon about 11.30am.
The area was cordoned off but the men managed to drive the car through the cordon.
The spokeswoman said the men allegedly drove the vehicle at police, forcing officers to fire shots.
The men drove off and onto the railway tracks before being arrested. No one was injured.
A 30-year-old Montrose man has been released pending further inquiries.
