Boronia intersection battle is over

LONG-AWAITED works at a Boronia intersection have finally begun after years of fighting by the local community.

Right-turn lanes from Boronia Road into Tomore Road and Narcissus Avenue will have traffic signals installed, and all the right-turn lanes will be lengthened to minimise traffic disruptions.

The project will cost $1.3 million and was part of an election commitment by Bayswater MP Heidi Victoria and Ferntree Gully MP Nick Wakeling. Both credited the community's effort to make the area safer.

Works are expected to be completed by February.
