KNOX police are pleased that drivers seem to be heeding the drink-driving message following a targeted operation during September.
Knox highway patrol's Acting Senior Sergeant David Young said officers conducted more than 10,000 breath tests during Operation Mustang, but only 12 positives were recorded.
"It is really encouraging. It shows that the message is getting through."
Acting Senior Sergeant Young said he hoped the operation would make people more aware of what they were drinking, particularly leading into the warmer months.
