A RED light camera at the intersection of Stud Road and High Street, Wantirna, is one of seven sites in Victoria found to have the wrong timing, leading to drivers being wrongly fined.
The guideline for the amber light at the intersection is 4.5 seconds, but it was only orange for three seconds.
The fault lasted from December 28, 2006 until August 23 this year.
VicRoads confirmed that all signals were now operating in accordance with the guidelines.
The faults were discovered after a man challenged a fine he received for running a red light.
The government is awaiting the result of court proceedings before considering further action.
