Woman tries to flee fatal crash in Bayswater North: police

A 35-YEAR-OLD woman from Bayswater North tried to flee the scene of a car crash that left one man dead last night. 

The woman was heading city-bound along Canterbury Road in Bayswater North when she attempted to turn right into Greenhill Road. 

A 35-year-old Croydon man was travelling north-east on Canterbury Road when he was hit by the woman’s car. 

He was airlifted to The Alfred hospital in a critical condition but died shortly after. 

The woman was arrested as she attempted to flee the scene and was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital and treated for minor injuries.
