More than 250 teachers vented their anger outside the office of Scoresby MP and state Treasurer Kim Wells last Thursday over what they claimed were broken promises by the coalition government.
Teachers from schools from across Knox, Dandenong Ranges and the Yarra Valley took part in the rally, including Scoresby Secondary College, Yawarra Primary School and Bayswater Secondary College.
Rowville Secondary College had about 60 teachers protesting, and teacher Daniel Sherlock said he was particularly angry about the concept of performance pay, saying it was "divisive and destructive". The AEU has organised rolling work stoppages throughout Victoria during the remainder of the year.
